Sheds For Sale

Find The Best Deals On Garden & Other Types Of Sheds For Sale

Practically anywhere you go around the country, you'll find people with sheds in their backyards. Many of them are garden sheds, but not all - plenty of them are used for storing things other than just bags of dirt and garden tools. And when you're searching for a shed, you'll be surprised at how far they have come over the years. Many of the sheds for sale today are as useful for their aesthetic appeal as they are for their functionality.

When choosing a shed, the first thing you'll want to decide is what you're going to be storing in it. Is the stuff large and requires a lot of room or is it smaller and can fit into a fairly small space? Obviously if you have larger items to store in your shed, you'll need a larger model, but try not to overestimate the space you'll need. If you have more space than necessary, you will inevitably find more "stuff" to fill it with.

Once you've determined the size you'll need, you'll want to decide on a style. There are plenty of styles to choose from these days, not just the old-fashioned aluminum or vinyl models you might have in mind. You can go with a rustic wooden barn style, or something a little more ornate like a Victorian style shed. Windows, shutters, skylights, window boxes - there are all kinds of decorative features you can choose from.

Price may also be a factor in your decision, so you'll want to be sure you have an idea of your budget. Wooden sheds tend to be a little cheaper than equivalent vinyl models, so that's something to keep in mind. You may also be able to pick and choose the accessories you want, to help keep costs down and extra stuff you won't use to a minimum.

Let's look at a few of the types of sheds for sale at many home improvement and garden centers.

Wooden Garden Sheds

These sheds range from smaller models designed to hold your tools and maybe a few other items, to much larger designs that can even double as a workshop. They come in various traditional and contemporary styles, so you can match them to almost any type of home or landscape.

Workshops

Larger sheds can be used as workshops as well, ranging in size from 10' x 10' to 10' x 25' or more. These sheds are typically made out of wood and are strong enough for many types of work to be done in them.

Kids' Playhouses

While not precisely a shed, there are many children's playhouse designs available, and in some cases they can double as a storage shed as well. Some of these playhouses come with platforms, towers and other features that kids will love.

Storage Units

If you're looking for something small to store your garden tools, lawnmower, firewood or other smaller items there are a number of storage units available that will protect your equipment from the elements, while not taking up a lot of yard space.

Metal Garden Sheds

Metal sheds offer more strength and durability than either wood or vinyl, so if you're looking for something that offers more protection this is a good choice. There are various styles and sizes available to choose from.

Summerhouses

Summerhouses are a great way to get some extra living space in your yard, while still offering storage for many of the things that you would normally put in a garden shed. These sheds come in various designs, such as octagonal, interlocking and more traditional looks.

Potting Sheds

If you enjoy growing your own plants and gardens, a potting shed can be a great addition. They give you a protected environment to start seedlings and other things, as well as protection from poor weather while you work.
